Success doesn’t happen overnight; it is born from effort and persistence. On December 29, 2001, Bandar Djakarta Restaurant began its operations with only two kerosene stoves and five huts at Taste of Asia, Ancol on a 250 square meters plot of land. When Taste of Asia was shut down, Bandar Djakarta has carried on with its operations independently up until now. Starting with only 80 seats, now Bandar Djakarta Ancol is able to accommodate more than 1,000 visitors. The name Bandar Djakarta was inspired by the restaurant’s seaside setting, which at that time was full of fishing vessels, which eventually inspired Bandar Djakarta’s logo of three fishing vessels headed for a direction.
Bandar Djakarta was established on the principle of kinship, not merely profit. Its founders began the business with a certain drive and focus, including the focus to determine the business location. We realized that in addition to the location, the key to our success lied in our service and food quality.
Bandar Djakarta is a seafood restaurant with a wide range of seafood varieties, including live and fresh seafood, available at the Bandar Djakarta fish market. Customers are able to choose their own seafood, how much they wish to consume and how to cook the menu based on the customers’ taste, all in affordable prices.
Each year, Bandar Djakarta strived to provide the best service to its customers until it had enough confidence and support to open a new branch in its 8th year of operations at Alam Sutera. The new branch, Bandar Djakarta Alam Sutera, was officially open on August 2, 2009, and unlike the others, the Alam Sutera outlet offers a garden view with a capacity of 1,000 seats.
The more branches there are, the more responsibilities that we carry to maintain our performance at these branches. Since our activities are not centered in just one place, it poses us a number of challenges.

Three years later, on September 18, 2015, we opened Bandar Djakarta Bekasi. As Bekasi continued to thrive, we were compelled to feed off the development by establishing the restaurant. Thanks to the support and prayers from all Bandar Djakarta employees as well as those from Summarecon Bekasi and our customers, the process went smoothly and Bandar Djakarta Bekasi has been fully operational since then. By continuing to feature the fish market concept, customers can directly choose the type of seafood they want to devour.
